The Moffats Series is Worth Reading at Any Age

No book is really worth reading at the age of ten which is not equally and often far more – worth reading at the age of fifty and beyond. C.S. Lewis

Just thinking of the Moffat book series by Eleanor Estes makes me smile. I read the books to my children when they were younger, and I enjoyed it as much as they did. I recently checked them out from our library to read them again. I love the quote above by C.S. Lewis because I have felt that way about many of the books that we have read.

Reading is so beautiful for many reasons. Books have given our family so many wonderful experiences through their simple pages. We have visited places and experienced situations we couldn’t have imagined, and without getting on an airplane or into a time machine. As an adult, reading is a wonderful way to take care of yourself, even if it’s just a page or two a day. If you are not a reader yet, it is never too late to start.

The Moffats series follows the lives of a mother and her four children in Cranbury, Connecticut. My favorite of the four books is “The Moffat Museum”. The kids couldn’t understand why I cried at one particular part in it. But I’ll leave that for you to discover.
